With residencies in venues across the region, the BSO is the largest cultural provider in the South West of England, serving one of the biggest and most diverse areas in the UK.
The Orchestra performs annual concert series in Poole, Exeter, Portsmouth, Bristol and Southampton, as well as regularly visiting other venues including Basingstoke, Chichester, Weymouth, Yeovil, Taunton and Truro - and the list goes on!
Programmes range from traditional symphonic repertoire with some of the world's biggest classical stars to spectacular BSO Pops including film nights, seasonal concerts and other specials.
The BSO's Concert Season 2023/24 promises fantastic nights of world-class music, with artists such as Kirill Karabits (who will end his remarkable 15-year tenure as the BSO's Chief Conductor in 2024), Artist-in-Residence Alexander Malofeev, Seeta Patel Dance, Andrew Litton, Alina Ibragimova and many more.
Pops concerts include Christmas Proms, New Year Galas, Williams and Zimmer film nights, Valentine Classics, and of course the celebrated Meyrick Park Outdoor Proms in Bournemouth in August 2024.
