Built over two hundred years ago, Grade I Listed Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens is a unique haven in the Sussex High Weald. Known as the ‘finest woodland gardens in England’, bursting with colour and scenic views throughout the year.
Explore our 240-acres of our Grade I Listed estate set in a valley, rich in history and character, and discover the beauty of spring, alive with a riot of colour. Vivid hues of rhododendrons, camellias and magnolias overhang pathways fringed with bluebells creating tunnels of colour.
Seasonal highlights include the wild beauty of Bluebell Bank where thousands of Bluebells can be found with enchanting colours of blue and purple stretching across the glade. Our ornamental Rock Garden, built around 1890 by the famous Rock Garden designers Pulham & Sons, becomes a kaleidoscope of colour in spring.
The Loderi Garden, the only place in the world where visitors can view all Rhododendron Loderi hybrids together was cultivated by Sir Edmund Loder when he owned the estate in the early 1900s.
The gardens feature seven interlacing lakes, 70-acre deer park, rare wallaby colony, vineyard, wine tastings, Michelin star restaurant, a magical world in miniature at our famous ‘Beyond the Dolls’ House’ exhibition and our new Sculpture Park & Art Gallery – featuring over 50 monumental sculptures placed throughout out woodland gardens.
