Our family-run company have operated passenger and party boats in Manchester for over 25 years and our two vessels; LS Lowry and Emmeline Pankhurst are named after famous local people who were born, lived and worked in Manchester and Salford, the very areas we operate in.

Our restaurant and party boats cruise all year round for groups and individuals, providing unique venues to celebrate your occasion whilst discovering the world famous historic Manchester Ship Canal and Bridgewater Canal which in 2011 celebrated its 250th Anniversary. During your privately chartered cruise you have the best views of the exciting waterside developments from Castlefield in Manchester City Centre to Salford Quays with a great view of Manchester United's 'Theatre of Dreams', Media City UK, home of the BBC in the north, The Lowry and the Imperial War Museum North. Our restaurant and party boats provide the perfect venues to celebrate your occasion, which may be a Birthday, Hen Party, Anniversary or Corporate event that can be customised to your needs. Whether you decide to dine, dance, drink, or all three, you can be confident that whatever your requests, we will deliver, meet and go beyond your expectations.

Sunday Lunch Cruises

Our popular Sunday lunch cruises are ideal for individuals, couples and smaller family groups. Departing from Castlefield in central Manchester and then sailing along the Bridgewater Canal to the lock at Pomona. We then transit the lock down onto The Manchester Ship Canal and River Irwell from where we cruise to Salford Quays and view the spectacular scenery and developments that have taken place. These include Media City UK, The Lowry Complex and The Imperial War Museum - North which are connected by the hydraulic foot bridge spanning the width of the Manchester Ship Canal. All this while enjoying a traditional Sunday lunch which is freshly prepared in our galley and served onboard.

Boarding starts at 12.30, (the bar is open) we then set sail at 1.00pm from outside The Castlefield Hotel, Liverpool Road, Castlefield, Manchester, M3 4JR [MAP] and return three hours later, you may also wish to use the bar services or select a wine from our wine list.

Sunday Afternoon Tea Cruises

Whilst enjoying this 2 ½ hour cruise to Salford Quays, Afternoon Tea will be served including a seasonal selection of sandwiches and fresh wraps, quiche, warm homemade scones with fresh clotted cream and glistening strawberry jam along with a variety of cakes. All of this accompanied by freshly brewed tea or filter coffee. For that special occasion, add a glass of Prosecco to make the afternoon even more delightful!

Media City Lunch Cruise

The cruise departs from Castlefield, on the historic 250 year old Bridgewater Canal. Sailing 'astern' we back out of the Staffordshire Arm under railway arches towards Merchants Warehouse with a view of Lock 92 which is the bottom lock of the Rochdale Canal. Then engines 'ahead' past Potato Wharf along the Bridgewater Canal, through Cornbrook Bridge to Pomona Lock. Here the boat is lowered about 14 feet (4.2 metres) into the old Pomona Docks famous for the cargo boats from Dublin bringing in Guinness.

Next, sailing downstream after passing beneath Trafford Road Bridge, the first view of Old Trafford, home of Manchester United Football Club is to be had. Then we have the panorama of Salford Quays. From here we get views of the spectacular waterside developments including the BBC at Media City UK, The Lowry and The Imperial War Museum - North. With Salford, Media City UK and The Lowry complex on the right and Trafford with The Imperial War Museum - North on the left we pass underneath The Lowry Footbridge.

The next bridge we sail under is the spectacular Media City Footbridge, this is a swing bridge which was opened in 2011 at a cost of £11 million. On the Trafford side ITV-Granada are now located with the new set for the filming of the famous Coronation Street. Turning at Mode Wheel Locks you then head back 'upstream', returning via Pomona Lock and the Bridgewater Canal to Castlefield 2½ hours later.
