Sheffield Park and Garden

Sheffield Park and Garden National Trust lies in the East Sussex countryside near Uckfield. With acres of landscape garden bordered by historic parkland and woodland, Sheffield Park is the ideal destination for groups interested in horticulture, history or those simply seeking a walk with friends in a magnificent Grade I Listed garden followed by a spot of lunch and a slice of cake.

Their friendly team make for an enjoyable and easy day out with all the amenities on hand including a large cafe, fantastic gift shop, plant sales area, secondhand bookshop and ample coach parking.

The garden is, of course, the real star of the day and water is its life force. With 20 acres of mirror-like lakes famed for reflecting the beautiful, and often rare, planting Sheffield Park has something to see in all seasons. Spring bursts with colour as the brilliant blooms of rhododendrons dance on the banks and summer brings hundreds of brightly coloured waterlilies. Many of the trees were planted by Arthur Soames for their famous and vivid autumn colours whilst winter allows the structural beauty of the trees to really shine through.
