Standen House & Garden

Discover Standen House and Garden located in an idyllic part of the Sussex countryside and built in the 1890s for James and Margaret Beale.

Designed by Philip Webb, the house is one of the finest examples of Arts and Crafts workmanship, with Morris & Co. interiors creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, so you can imagine you are a guest of the family when you visit.

The 5-hectare hillside garden offers year-round seasonal highlights from winter views to spring bulbs and red and gold autumn colour in the Acer grove.

On the wider estate, footpaths lead out into the woodlands and wider High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Complete with a shop for souvenir browsing and a Barn Café to enjoy drinks and a bite to eat, it is the perfect place for a group visit.
